Pastor’s Corner  (to be updated)

On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus calmed His disciples’ fears by telling them about the future.

He had already warned them that He would be put to death and would be leaving them.

He had already predicted that one of them would betray Him.

He had already warned Peter that he would deny Jesus three times.

Jesus’ departure would result in a fundamental change in the lives of the disciples.

The disciples had grown up believing in a personal creator God.

Jesus is saying to them, against all odds place your faith in Me as your God.

This will strain their faith when they see Jesus crucified, pronounced dead and buried.

But Jesus’ dead body will not be the tragic finality that is seems to be.

Jesus is preparing a heavenly home for His disciples and for us.

It is a place without any crying or pain or death or sin (Rev.21:4).

It is a life that will make all previous suffering insignificant by comparison (Rom.8:18).

When trials come our way, we should always take the long view of faith in our deliverer.

Thomas mistakenly thought only in terms of a geographical location, and not a relationship with God.

Jesus is the only answer to the future.

He is the way:

Jesus is the only way to a relationship with God the Father.

Jesus not only knows the way, but He is the way.

He is the truth:

Jesus exhibits all things as they really are.

Jesus is the complete and unblemished embodiment of truth.

He is the life:

Jesus lifts people out of the deadness of sin and gives them abundant life (John 10:10).

Jesus gives believers an eternal relationship with God the Father (John 14:23).

Jesus is the only way of access to God the Father.

He is the only bridge between sinful man and a holy God.

He is the only mediator, or go between, who can reconcile sinners to God by His atoning death.

All roads of religion do not lead to heaven,

Mohammed, Buddha, and Hari Krishna never claimed to be the way, the truth and the life.

The Christmas message is that the baby Jesus grew up to give His life a ransom for many (Mt.20:28).

Rev. 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor

crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.

Rom. 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory

which shall be revealed in us.

Mat. 16:21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many

things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.

John 18:37 You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the

world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.

John 11:21-25 Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. / Jesus said to her, “Your brother

will rise again. / I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he / die, he shall live.

John 10:10 I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 14:23 If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him

1 Tim. 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Mat. 20:28 The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
